Our 2021 ornament represents the Seminole Doll Head Basket made popular in the early 20th century. Made from hanks of sweet grass stitched together with embroidery floss, these lidded baskets were topped with the head of a Seminole Doll. Our version showcases the deceptive simplicity of the stitching using tradition medicine colors of black, red, yellow and white.Mouth blown and hand painted in Poland using techniques dating back to the mid-1800s.
Telling Our Stories is our $10 million redesign campaign to expand and promote the Seminole Story with the Florida Story.
